Sans Prétention – JukeBox Café Portrait Session | Montreal Portrait Photographer

Last month I photographed the poster of the show Sans Prétention – JukeBox Café. This is an annual benefit cabaret concert that brings together very talented artists with the purpose of raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. This event gathers very experienced artists that previously performed in shows like Shérazade, Quidam du Cirque du Soleil, Québec Issime, Bateaux de croisières Royal Caribbean et Casino de Montréal.  For tickets please check their website here and Like their Facebook page to get updates and more details about the show that will take place on 16th and 17th of September 2011 at 150, de Gentilly Est, Longueuil, QC J4H 4A9.

As concerns the technical part, I will just say that I used a bigger studio, in order to accommodate all the artists and the lights. I used 5 lights in total and the concept was to have a dramatic portrait of the group. In order to achieve that I used three lights for the artists – one big dish in center, and two small softboxes on the sides. Two strobes were used for the background. Creating dramatic light for a group is not an easy task but it can be achieved with careful planning and a few tests. If you need more details please leave your comments and I will be glad to explain further.

See you soon!
